The point addressed in the above comment re: the Wii has merit, but there has also been criticism around the types of activities the Wii promotes (related to repetitive stress syndrome, for instance).

		<description>Hi Corinne!  I&#039;m glad you pointed out the sedentary aspect of computer use.  Obesity is becoming such a problem in our society and it is definitely important to teach children balance.  But I wanted to point out that technology can also be a part of physical activity.  A popular example might be the Wii game system, but devices such as heart monitors and pedometers are also gaining popularity to help motivate and assess student physical activity.  Technology is also doing wonders to help students with physical disabilities get active.  Technology opens up so many opportunities, and I agree with you that a lack of funding is a huge barrier preventing many schools from having these benefits.</description>
